Our mission relies solely on donations from the public just like you! Our staff and volunteer are not paid. Every cent donated goes directly to support the animals under our care. whether it is food, bedding, shelter, or veterinary care your support goes directly to the animals.
How We Got Started
Our Story
What began as a single act of compassion quickly grew into a lifelong calling.
It started when we came across seven pigs trapped in heartbreaking conditions—confined to a tiny 10-by-10 pen, sleeping in deep mud with no proper shelter, warmth, or care. We couldn’t walk away. We bought all seven pigs on the spot and brought them home to give them the life they deserved.
Shortly after arriving, we discovered that every single female was pregnant. Suddenly, our farm was overflowing with new life. We immediately began searching for loving homes for the piglets, but we quickly hit a devastating reality: the only people interested in taking them intended to raise them for food.
We refused to let these gentle animals suffer that fate. That was the moment Woodraska’s Wallow Animal Sanctuary was born. My wife and I opened our land to ensure every single one of these pigs had a safe, permanent refuge where they could live out their natural lives without fear.
Today, our sanctuary has grown from those original seven to over 100 incredible rescue pigs. Beyond providing a lifelong haven for abandoned and neglected animals, we are a family-run effort. Raising our children alongside these animals teaches them daily lessons in hands-on care, deep compassion, and genuine empathy—values that enrich the lives of both our kids and the rescues in our care.
We have loved every minute of this journey, but caring for over 100 pigs takes a village. Your support helps us provide nutritious feed, veterinary care, and warm shelter to pigs that have nowhere else to go. How to Donate To Our Work
Our donations are always 100% provided directly to the animals below are way you can donate with a breakdown of how much is charged to make a donation. Every donation is 100% tax deductible through our 501(c)(3) filing Tax Id 88-2304476
Paypal is a great platform and the money is instant but they do charge for the service they do provide a discount for non-profits but it is still high. PayPal offers verified charities a discounted processing rate of 2.89% + $0.49 per donation.
You can donate through our Facebook page 100% of the donation goes to our charity. You can also choose a one-time donation or chose to donate monthly.
Venmo is another great way to give. Funds are instant but they charge the same as Paypal.
